(Herald Correspondent.). The Pat Utah i Domain Board is to he congratulated on the progressive policy it is adopting of late. Recently an up-,to-date sewerage system was installed at the hall,: and at present a gang of local unemployed men is busy laying down a full-sized croquet lawn in the south-east corner of the township domain, between the War Memorial and the bowling green. Only last winter the board laid down a grass tennis court, which has proved popular this summer. With the completion of 1 - the croquet lawn, the southern frontage of the domain will be completely taken up with the tennis, bowling and croquet areas, while the whole of the rear portion will be occupied by the football ground. The Bowling Club closed for the present season last week-end, which witnessed the conclusion of the club championship pairs competition. The final mutch was a hard fought out tussle which was Won on the last head, 11. White and D. &• Williams (s) 25 defeating T. E, Peel and J, J. .East (s) 23. The following games were played in the semi-final round:—T.. E. Peel and J. J. East (s) 21 v. R. Elide and J. Monteith (s) 17; Clark and Allan (s) 18 v. Suell and McGaveston (s) 21; White and Williams (s) 17 v. Buell and McGaveston (s) 16.

The friends of Mr. C. McGrannachaii, junior, who has been a patient of the Cook Hospital for the past nine weeks, will be pleased to learn that he is making a good recovery.
