ARSON SUSPECTED

APPLE STORE DESTROYED (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A -firein Lingdon’s road, near Papanui, at 8 o’clock last night destroyed an apple store and its contents, owned by Mr. G. Illingworth, who estimated the total loss.at £IO3O. The building was insured for £250 in the A.P.A. company. How the fire originated is not known, but Mr. Illingworth is certain that it was done deliberately. He passed the shed at 7 o’clock and heard a rattling of boxes in a corner. The fact that the fire began in the same corner led him to believe that it was not accidental.
