NEW ZEALANDER’S DEATH i " |LONDON STREET TRAGEDY I ! (Received Feb. 3, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 2. I A Paddington jury returned a verdict that Spencer Gollan’s death was accidental and exonerated the driver. I The coroner said Gollan wias blind fin one eye. The evidence showed that ho stepped from a refuge in front oi an omnibus, not looking where he was (going. The driver had 14 years’ experience and held six or seven diplomas [for freedom from accidents. He vainly jammed on both brakes. A former New Zealander, Mr Spencer ill. Gollan, was run over by a motor[bus in Oxford street on Monday and 1 killed. Mr Gollan, who was born at Mangntnrata, Auckland, and educated ' in New Zealand, Switzerland, and Cam bridge, and was a very prominent athlete, having won events in rowing sculling, running, swimming, boxiiq land golf, including two New Zcalanc. I amateur championships, and othci ; sports.
