Special Motor Roads
ONE0 NE of the latest examples of special motor roads is between Turin and Milan, 100 miles, has carried more than oOO,OCO cars in its first year. With a toll of 5s a car, or 7s Gd return, for vehicles of medium w eight, the average of 900 ears a day has returned good interest on the outlay. An excellent road has now been built over the 565 miles between Shanghai and Nanking, formerly known as the world’s worst motor route. The first two carp to travel on it-were tlio first ever to have/completed the journey, and in many villages were the first cars to lie seen on the streets.
