AUSTRALIAN FLOUR TAX
EFFECT IN N.S.W. LEGISLATION POSSIBLE (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) SYDNEY', Dec. A. Mr. B. S. Stevens, Premier of New South Wales, says that as the result of the Commonwealth Government’s decision to impose a flour tax of £4 5s a ton, the State Government will legislate for the abolition of the State flour tax of 30s a ton.
The Cabinet was opposed to. the suggestion that the sale of bread over shop counters should stop, as half of Sydney's bread supply is said to he disposed of in this way. The committee investigating the subject lias not yet reported.
