AMATEUR STATUS
WARNING TO SCHOOLBOYS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. In reply to a letter received from a Hastings school, the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association stated at a meeting last night that all boys who compete in events carrying cash prizes infringe their amateur status, and require to be reinstated before they can again compete as amateurs. A suggestion had been made that boys who had not attained the age of 16 years would not have their status affected.
