THE COMPANIES’ BILL
PALMKRSTON OBJECTION (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day. A deputation representing limited liability companies in the city waited on Mr. J. A. Nash. M.P., with the object of taking steps to -oppose provisions in the Companies’ Bill which they consider inimical to their interests. The provisions refer to compulsion on companies to engage auditors to examine their books. Tile deputation pointed out that, the measure Would be serious, and it was felt, that it was not warranted, because such businesses as those represented should not, he treated differently from firms which, though not limited liability companies in comprehension, were very similar, hut were not placed tinder the same ' disadvantage. An individual might- have actually a larger business, but was not placed under the same impost. or subjected to the ’ expense of audit. The’ member for Palmerston- North promised to place the representations be fore the committee on the bill.
