FOUR SHIPS IDLE
SHORTAGE OF LABOR (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Four ships, the Canadian Challenger, Port Gisborne, Meiko Maru, and Pooka were not worked to-day. Because of a shortage of waterside labor yesterday, non-union men were employed to complete the gangs. EvAi with this extra labor, the Canadian Challenger was unable to operate all hatches. It is hoped this afternoon to start unloading the Port Gisborne with non-unionists. The disputes committee meets this afternoon.
