ACTIVITY IN TRADE PRICES WELL MAINTAINED (Klee. Tel. (lopyrijflit-—United lb-css Assn.) (Received Nov. 27, J l a.m.; LONDON, Nov. 25. Thu Australian Wool Council’s representative, Mr. W. P. Doveroux, in his weekly report, says the situation iu the United States and France continues to ho very disturbing, but all wool markets are firm, with an active demand, especially from Germany and Yorkshire. The opening rates at the London sales have been, firmly maintained, withdrawals being negligible. Crossbred tops are firmer, with a good demand for medium and line qualities. Prices of merino yarns are fully maintained . ami there is a moderate amount of new business 1 iii crossbred yarns, with prices tending against buyers, but little business is passing. Many mills are working overtime.
Sales of tops in Germany are again larjre, with improved prices. The trade is active and confident, but trade in France is only -moderately active. The Italian industry is active, and the Continental market firm.
