SATURDAY’S MATCHES GISBORNE CLUB Saturday Fours competitions wore continued ou Saturday afternoon at the Gisborne Bowling Club’s greens, the following being the results of games played: — Chamberlain, Rnthsach, Johnson, Murray (s) 24, v. McGregor, Fyke, Dodd, H. E. Bright (s), Id. Farnie, Jones (sub.), McCulloch, McGregor (s) 11), v. Waite, Neal, Shimmins, Henderson (s), 1.1. DcCosta, Sheen, Park, Crawford (s) 16, v. Clark, Balfour, Taylor Smith (s) 15. Galvin, Chrisp, Riddell, Allan (s) 23, v. Fenn, York (sub.), Munro, L. Bright (s) 16. Peach, Thornton, Beckett, A. Hay (s) 25, v. Dobson, Shaw, Sutton, S. Coleman (s) 19. An ordinary game, Robertson and Crowley v. Ellis and Maude, resulted in a win for the former by 23 to 11. Mesdames Peach and Chamberlain were tho hostesses at afternoon tea. KAHUTIA CLUB There was a good attendance ot bowlers and friends at the Kahutia Club’s green on Saturday, .when the following games were played —Dan Rany Memorial — 11, Robinson, J, Walker, J. Davies, P. Smith (s) 27 v. J, Young, W. Jackson. G. Downey, R. Jenkins (s) 20. W. Riddell, H. Clarke, It. Campbell, i J. Newton (s) 22 v. G. Corbett, W. John. C. E. Robinson, R, Morse (s) 16. J. Donaldson, A.'lngram, C. Corbett, N. Bayne (s) 21 v. P. Brady, W. Neenan, W. Town, J. Rothwell (s) 20. Owing to the absence of I. Robertson and C. Pol lock, the three and skip, Bayne, who plays two in the correct team, skipped with subs, as two and thme. The score was 14—20 with three heads to go. Bayne's tAm scored a one, two and a four on the last head, to win by one point, a really good performance by sc. junior a player. The position of the teams now is: — Smith, 3 wins, no losses • Newton, two wins, one loss; Pollock, one win, one loss; Rothwell, one win, one loss; | Power, one win, one loss; Jenkins, one ■ win,-two losses; Morse, three losses.
