FAT LAMBS RUSH TO MARKET Keen activity has taken place on the fat lamb market at Hamilton this week. In view of the fact that the ruling schedule of 7d per lb will definitely cease next week, there is a frenzied rush to get lambs killed before the lower juice ajijilics. It was estimated that between Id.ooo and .12,000 lambs were being killed daily at the Horotiu, Southdown and Westfield works. Only a fraction of this number will be handled next week. No announcement has yet been made regarding the new schedule coming into operation next week, but the indications point to a decline of at least id per lb. LONDON WOOL SALES Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Company, are in receipt of the following advice from London: —“The London wool sales continue strong, with improved general competition, and the Continent buying more freely. All descriptons show a hardening tendency.” The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from London dated November 24: “The sales continue with a strong demand for all descriptions of wool. Quotations for aver aged condition greasy wool arc as follow: — Merinos. 60/64’s, I7d to 18d per lb., ordinary, 6C/64’s, 15j,d to 16-jd, inferior, 60/64 s, 12d to 13d; lialfbreds, 56’s. 16d to 17d. 50/56’s, 1,3 d to 14d; crossbreds, 50’s. IC'd to 11£«I, 43/50’s, 9'd to 10-id, 46-48’s. 8d to Qd, 44/46’s, 7J/d to Bd, 40/44’s, 7d to Bd, 36/40’s, 6£d to 7§cl.” LONDON MARKETS The- Bank of New Zealand is in receipt of the following advice from London as at the close of business this week: — “Wethers: Smaller supplies have caused prices to harden. Ewes: The market is weaker for heavy-weights. Lambs; ilie uiarket lias declined; demand very poor. Prices generally were influenced by large supplies of otlici foodstuffs.
