SUPPLIES OF TIMBER
The opinion expressed in Auckland that there was not sufficient New Zealand dry timber available, or in prospect, for the next three or four months to meet the demand for outside doors and sashes is the subject of a denial by Mr. .A- Seed, secretary of the Dominion Federated Sawmilfers’ Association, Wellington. The fear that sufficient supplies of New Zealand timber would not be available was expressed following the announcement that it was the Unemployment Board’s intention to deduct from the •subsidy payable the value of redwood and Oregon doors and sashes used in the, erection of buildings.
