Bolt, who is at present in Napier, expressed the , view that there were vast possibilities . for the success of an air service established between Napier and Gisborne. There was sufficient passenger traffic between the two towns, lie thought, to warrant the use of a plane with a carrying capacity of eight or 10 passengers. Publicity was given some months ago to the possible, formation of an air service between Napier and Gisborne. The organiser, Mr. E. A. Robinson, of Wellington, is at present in Gisborne in connection with the project,, blit it is understood that the matter lias been left in abeyance till March next. ; ADe Haviland two-motor ’plane, with seating capacity for eight or 10 passen- ’ gers, would be ideal for such a service stated Captain Bolt. Such a machine ’ would cost in the vicinity of £4500. It would have a cruising speed of about 105 miles per hour, so that the trip from ' Napier to Gisborne could be accomp- I lished in under an hour instead of in 7$ j hours by car as at present.
