ROADMAN KILLED
RUN OVER BY GRADER (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, last night. Injuries which subsequently proved fatal were sustained this morning by Frederick Charles Newton, 50, a married man, who resided at Kupuka, as the result of a grader passing over his body. Newton, who is a surfaceman employed by the Southland County Council, was working on the Rimu factory road, and was walking alongside and slightly ahead of the grader, shifting away sods which the machino turned up, when he slipped and fell in front of tho wheels. He sustained severe internal injuries, and was removed to the Southland Hospital, where he died this afternoon.
