GISBORNE CLUB “BOOSTERS’ * FINALISED s On the Gisborne Bowling Club s greens, the principal feature yesterday afternoon was the'final of the Ihursday “Roosters” competition,- when the Kahutia club was represented by a - challenging rink, and the Gisborne club had a Strong defending team. The challengers secured an early lead and held it through most of the game, the Gisborne rink fighting stubbornly but being unable to overcome the initial disadvantage until the nineteenth head had been played. On the nineteenth the challengers’ secured a four, and with two heads to go, Kahutia led 26-18. At this stage, however, the Gisborne rink rallied stron~ - and on the twentieth they reduced the Kahutia lead by five'points, following up this success by scoring a three on the last head and winning the game by a single point. The winners comprised 11. H. DeCosta, Zachariah, W. A. Smith, and R. Robertson, (sj, while the' Kahutia rink comprised Young, Dunlop, Davis, and H. Holland (s). The game was followed with keen interest, and the sudden turn of fortune on the last two heads was productive of condolences for the losers.
