WORK MAY PROCEED
WHITEHALL BUILDING 21-YEAR-OLD AUTHORITY (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 10 a.m. RUGBY, Sept, 27. It is anticipated that the Government will shortly sanction the preparation of plans for the construction on the Embankment side of \\ hitehall of a new block of Government offices, costing approximately b2.C00.0C0. The Act authorising the erection of these buildings was passed 21 years ago, hut the scheme Ivas postponed owing to the war and the need for economy. The scheme, if proceeded with, will take some years to complete.
