ALBANY (New York), Aug. S. The President’s move for au industrial truce throughout America does not seem to have had much effect m five of’the New York counties. Milk strikers are now virtually in complete control. • ' . . . The strikers are ruthless in their campaign to keep milk from the public unless they get a better price. Two women were badly beaten and kicked by them, and two men, father and son, narrowly escaped death by shooting—one being wounded in the arm and a bullet passing through the other’s hat. Ten thousand quarts ot milk wcio "dumped” in Seneca county. Strikers warned dairymen that (hey would smash up their premises if they attempted to open. What might be described as only a small trickle of milk was delivered to plants in the affected area. One "blackleg” farmer, however, outwitted the strikers by hiring an aeroplane to deliver his milk. In some parts a new kind of picket has been invented: When women 'sympathisers with the .strikers see milk vans approaching they lie down tbit m- the road and refuse to let them pass.
