In order not to clash with the Waikoliu association’s tournament, which is being held early in October, it was decided that the next tournament be held in Gisborne during Show week. Mr. Heeney reported that he had interviewed Mr. George Bush, of tho Auckland association, whilst in Blenheim, and arranged for an interchange of visits between Gisborne and Auckland amateurs on the “home and home” basis. It was decided to suggest Show week as the most suitable time for a visit from Auckland, and that local amateurs be advised to get into training immediately. Rules for the Johnny Walker Challenge Cup for teams competition were confirmed, and the secretary instructed to forward copies to tho various associations. S
Commenting on the Gisborne team’s display at the championships, the chairman said that the local boys should bo congratulated on the displays given. In W. McKay, Gisborne had the first champion for at least J 5 years, and the showing of the other two representatives proved that the standard of boxing in Gisborne was on the up grade.
