LOOKING FOR BUSINESS

Ail amusing story concerning Wairoa is told by a Napier resident who returned on Monday from a visit to that northern township, it appears that on a recent evening a motorist who mistook a path leading down to the river for the road itself, found himself inside his oar at the bottom of the river. Crawling out of the river, he made his to the bank. Almost immediately he saw another vehicle approaching trie spot, but was staggered to observe an undertaker’s coach, complete with empty coffin. "The sight sufficed to impress upon the motorist the good tortune which he had had in escaping from a watery grave, and also would appear to indicate the zeal which prompts the business people of Wairoa, even at 11 o’clock at night,” remarked i the Napier resident. —Napier Telegraph... 1 , . *■ I 5 ‘ ' ~
