POT,LINO AT LYTTELTON (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A heavy poll is expected in the Lyttelton by-election to-day. The whole of the electorate lias been thoroughly canvassed by party organisations, and, despite light rain, there was tt steady stream of voters to the principal booths from noon onwards. The totals may be a record for a New Zealand by-election. Progress reports of the voting will he sent by the Telegraph Department, to all telegraph and telephone unices which have attendance at the necessary hours. The returns will also he broadcast by the national stations.
