A VICIOUS BULL

TWO FARMERS INJURED BOTH SENT TO HOSPITAL (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, last night. •Through being gored by a bull today, two welj-known settlers in the Tunakino Valley, Rai district, have been conveyed to Nelson and were admitted to hospital suffering from extensive wounds. The victims are Messrs. Leu Neal and Don Wrat-t, and ilie accidents occurred on Mr Neal’s property. The first accident happened when Mr Neal was attempting to shift a bull from a paddock near his residence, the animal attacking him, and tossing him 12ft. in the air. His side was badly lacerated and a wound was inflicted on one leg. Mr Neal managed to get through the fence out of the enraged animal’s roach, and received medical assistance from the district nurse, and was later taken to Nelson.

Some time afterwards, several neighincluding Mr Wratt. endeavored to remove ,the bull from the paddock, hut, the vicious animal charged Mr Wratt, who was armed with a pitchfork. The fork handle broke, and Mr Wratt was left, defenceless. lie received an ugly wound in his chest ami other wounds in his side. lie also was taken to hospital. It is believed that Mr Neal, owner of the property on which I lie accidents happened, is progressing satisfactorily, but that Mr WraM’s injuries are more serious.
