MOTORIST KILLED
CRASH INTO A BRIDGE Kenneth Lumsden, 24, a single man, of Invercargill, was killed while motoring home from a suburb with two companions late on Saturday evening. When negotiating the New River Ferry Bridge, a few miles from Invercargill, the steering gear failed and the car crashed into the bridge and overturned, pinning Mr. Lumsden. underneath. He received spinal injuries to which he succumbed shortly after arrival at the hospital.
