BANANA CROPS
LOSSES TN JAMAICA

Rec. 10 a.m. Aug. 29. The Governor of Jamaica, reporting to the Colonial Office states that the loss to the banana crops caused by the storm -on August 16 is estimated at 750,000 stems, which would have matured within six months. The. loss is restricted almost entirely to, big planters. The effect on shipments, however, is unlikely to be serious.
