Surrey in tho first scored ,402 for eight wickets, declared (Brown 128), and in the second lost lour for 193 (Squires 85, Block 67). Surrey won by six wickets. Yorkshire’s first produced 115, and their second J;l4 (i’eatee five for 34). Sussex in the first made 249 (Cook 67). Sussex won by an innings and 20 runs Hampshire in the first made 221 (Goddard six for 56), and in the second 93 (Brown 52, Goddard four for 8). Gloucester made 403 in the first (Barnett 131, Neale 73, Parker 111, Herman five for 128. Gloucester won by an innings aiul 89 runs. Lancashire in the first made 334 (Hopwood 118, Lister 95), and in the second 191. Leicester’s first produced 234 (Armstrong 55), and in the second 120 (Hopwood nine for 33). Lancashire won by 171 runs. Derby declared in the first with three down for 538 (Lee 128, Townsend 142, Smith, not out, 129, Worthington, not out, 70). Nortliants in the first made 224 (Bakewell 81, Timms 74). Nortliants followed on and made 130. Derby won by an innings and 184 runs. Kent in the first made 336 (Chalk, 78, Voce five for 80), and in the second seven for 316, declared (Fairservice 80. Valentine, not out, 83). Notts in the first made 331 (Freeman six for 124), and in the second two for 208 (Keeton 100). Kent won on the first innings. Somerset in the first scored 282 (Burrough 61, Mayer five for 51), and in the second 234..
