PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ’VARSITY APPOINTMENT i (Per Preas Association.) ' OAMABU, this day. Tlie. Otago and Southland Presbyterian synod was continued this .morning. The synod concurred in the appointment of' Professor J. M. Findlay, M.A., of Pretoria, to the Chair of Mental and Moral Philosophy at Otago University. Professor Findlay, who is 30 years of age, is a native of Pretoria, and graduated at Oxford as Rhodes Scholar. The synod expressed gratification at the number and quality, of students offering for the ministry. The synod is concluded.
