. ;; Y |\ COOKS AND STEWARDS’ DISPUTE (Per Preßß Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Tho cooks and stewards —other than the Union Company—dispute before the Conciliation Council yesterday failed to reach an agreement and this morning the employers put forward proposals agreeing to a 15 per cent, reduction on the 1931 rates, instead of 20 per cent, as proposed yesterday. After a short ’ retirement the union assessors stated that they could not agree and would not accept less than the present award rates. After some discussion the commissioner, Mr. Ei. W. Golms, said that there appeared to be no hope of an agreement, and adjourned sine die. '
