ECONOMIC CONFERENCE
DELEGATE DISAPPOINTED QUESTION OF CURRENCY (Received August 29, noon) CAPETOWN, Aug. 28. Mr. Havenga has returned, from the Economic Conference disappointed that nothing was done in the way of establishing gold as an international standard until the American policy had time to operate. He ridicules the rumor that the Government contemplated devaluation of currency, and' stated that the Union would-follow sterling.
