PRESS CONFERENCES
ABOLISHED BY REICH BERLIN, June 20. German journalists no longer may meet in daily conference, presided over by one of their number, to question Government representatives. The Propaganda Ministry to-day dissolved the so-called press conference, founded in 1917, and delegated Dr. Kurt Jahncke, vice-chief of the Government press department, to preside yover a daily official conference which supersedes tho .private organisation- of correspondents. On behalf of the Government Dr. Jahncke declared: — “It is incompatible with the authority idea of the Nazi state that the Government submit to questions by a private press conference, in informing the press, as in everything else, the Government must have control. ’ ’
