PUHA MEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) An outstanding success was the ouchre party and dance held in the Puha Hall on Wednesday evening in aid of hockey funds, there being over ■l5O couples present. Great ■credit, for the successful evening is due to the organiser, Mr P. Brown, and his committee. Tho hall was artistically decorated with bamboo and greenery. A delicious supper was served by the ladies. The dance music ws supplied by the Krazy Kat orchestra, the programme containing both modern and old-time dances. The duties of M.C were capably carried out by Mr Karau. During the evening songs were contributed by Mrs Titus and Mr Jones, a demonstration of the hula-hula was given by Miss A. Parkinson, ami a haka by Mrs Perfect, .all receiving hearty encores. Tho winners of the euchre tournament were: —Ladies: Mrs T. Smiler, 1; Mrs H. Holkan, 2. Gentlemen: Mr T. Ruru, 1; Mr M. Pera, 2.
