MAJESTIC THEATRE

Douglas Fairbanks, jun., lately starred ill “Gentleman for a Day,” comes to tho Majestic Theatre again to-night in “Love is a. Racket,” in which he appears as a wise Broadway reporter. Fairbanks, jun., lips rapidly come to,tho top of tho list of popular stars for his portrayals of contemporary types of young heroes. As the reporter in “Love is a Racket,” he writes of the doings, love affairs and quarrels ,of Broadway’s great and near great. He Himself becomes involved hi a love affair of tho type he writes about, despite his supposed wisdom and knowledge of the gay white way. The reporter’s love affair, however, turns out different for him. He becomes embroiled in a series of happenings which lead to an exciting ; climax Tho .story is fast, paced and modern in plot, action arid Setting. The cast brings, youth and pharm to the story, as well as tho definite talehts which have brought, ,tho young players to screen heights., Playing leading roles with Fairbanks are Ann Dvorak, Lee Tracy, Frances Dee, Lysle Talbot, Warren Hymer, and Andro Lugnet. liEfcENt THEATRE. A hearty British picture is "The Last Coupon," which constitutes the chief attraction on the new programme at the Regent Theatre. There are several really funny people in this film, but the heavy honors go to Leslie? Fuller. He is already well oh the map as a comical fellow, and this latest effort will contribute substantially to his record. Qiiite a iot of Fuller's success is due to the elasticity of his features rather than to the words which are put into his mouth. The picture gives a very true portrayal of British life. Fuller starts as a minor living with simple comforts. The domestic condition of his neighbors ranges downwards to squalor. There is a scene in a tavern which is a refreshingly faithful picture of tho British workman firmly attached to the handle of his traditional beer. Fuller is depicted soaring in tho social scale on the strength of a supposed win in a guessing competition. He was good as the bluff miner, and he is still fiitihier, crashing his wily into titled, company. Mary Jerrold is the apprehensive wife who thinks wealth lis not worth her husband ’s loss of horse sense., Harry Carr is a "bruiser" who makes a lot of comedy in a tavern bout with .Tack Hobbs. Marion Dawson and Molly Lament are others in this comical film. The supports afford good entertainment.
