WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
WHANG APARAOA MEETING The Whangaparaoa Women’s Inviituto held its meeting in the club room at Cape Runaway on April 7. The meeting commenced with the opening ode. There was a good attendance, 17 members being present. Mrs Turei sang a native song and also in English. Poi dances and a halca were given by several of the ■ embers, and also the ‘hornpipe. Mrs Kemp gave a demonstration of biscuit till work. The roll call was “My favorite flower.” Wonderful 'talent was shown in the sugar bag competition, it being very hard to select the best. Mrs Turei came first, Mrs A. E. Watone second, and Mrs Sid Waititi third. A programme was arranged for next meeting. Afternoon tea was served, and a happy meeting was brought to ,u conclusion by the singing of the National Anthem.
