June the Third ami Gaysomc were prominent early, but the leaders on to the course proper were Silent Flight, June the Third, Trivet, Sweet Agnes, Highbrow and Gaysomc. In a close finish Trivet beat Sweet Agnes by a head, with Silent Flight a neck away. Gaysomc was fourth. Time 58 4-osce.

Ruling Light was the first to show out, but rounding the far turn Great Star had charge from Cricket Bat, Gustavo, Gay Crest, Rebel Song, Ruling Light and Martian Chief. The leaders were the same passing the halfmile, and Great Star turned for home clear of Cricket Bat, followed by Rebel Song, Gustavo, and Gay Crest. In a close finish Rebel Song beat Cricket Bat by a head, with Great Star three lengths away. Gay Crest was fourth. Time, 1.26. Papanui Handicap.—l-1 Cottesmore (Wilson), 1; 4-2 Silver Streak (A. E.
