TRAFFIC AT STANDSTILL “NO PAY’’ DEMONSTRATION CHICAGO, April 15. Teachers and students of Chicago public schools marched on Saturday in -a protest against payless pay days. Loop traffic was at a standstill as the (procession, many blocks long, of pedagogues, pupils and groups representing parents’ and teachers’ associations, trudged the streets. Many teachers chose to join the demonstrators instead of calling at their schools where cheques for £340,000 awaited them, representing pay for the last week in June, 1932.
