MAJESTIC THEATRE “Shanghai Express,” Marlene Dietrich's .starring! picture, will be rescreened to-day and to-morrow by request. This thrilling story of adventure and romance was originally written by the well-known novelist and traveller, Harry Hervey, and dramatised for the screcm by Jules Furtlunan, who also wrote tho screen play of “Morocco, ’ Miss Dietrich’s first starring picture made in America. Josef von Sternberg, maker of “Morocco” and “Dishonored,’ also directed “Shanghai Express.” The supporting cast is headed by Clive Brook. Miss Dietrich plays the part of a notorious and glamorous woman of the world, while Brook portrays a British officer who meets her, after years of separation, aboard the Shanghai Express, which is held up by a Chinese bandit general, played by, Warner Oland. “Shanghai Express” is a stirringly melodramatic picture with a large cast of celebrities. More than a thousand Orientals of various races were used as extras for atmosphere effect. REGENT THEATRE The mad, but merry, four Marx Brothers, specialists in nonsense, are starred in “Horse Feathers, which concludes to-night at the Regent. “Dorse Feathers,” like the previous Marx Brothers’ pictures,’is sheer foolery, with Groucho talking and punning at a terrific rate, Chico answering in, Italian dialect arid occasionally playing the piano, red-wigged Harpo chasing Ins blondes, and Zeppo making love to tho ingenue. ■ .... The latest British comedy to screen at the Regent will ho “The Last Coupon, an adaptation of the North Country comedy which had such a very successful run at the Garrick Theatre in London. It will commence its.season to-morrow. Leslie Fuller, the inimitable rubber-faced comedian, who made such a hit recently in “To-night’s the Night,” as tho jubilant convict, this time appears as a coal miner in the star role. An ardent football enthusiast, he spends his spare time in filling up football coupons, and is successful in forecasting one result foi which a prize of £2O s COO is offered. His subsequent adventures as a local celebrity and big-fight promoter are as hilariously funny as only Fuller can make them. Mary Jerrold also plays a leading role as his wife. The younger generation are ably represented by Molly Lainont and Jack Hobbs.
