THREE PLANE CRASHES
DISASTER IN SPAIN (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received April 17, 2 p.m.) MADRID, April 16. A series of aeroplane tragedies marred the Easter celebrations. Firstly, a machine participating m manoeuvres over the city crashed on a house-top, killing an observer and fatally injuring three women living in the garret. The pilot saved himself by parachuting. Secondly, Lieut. Gobart, a distinguished military airman, and his companion were killed in a crash during a display at Barajas aerodrome. The crash was witnessed by several members of the Cabinet. Thirdly, a, Frenchman, Maurice Berthelot, and a. woman friend with whom he flew from France, was killed after participating in tho same display.
