MANUTUKE SPORTS

PROFESSIONALS DEFAULT AMATEUR ATHLETES’ SUPPORT LARGE GATHERING PARTICIPATES A largo crowd attended the eighth annual sports meeting held at To Aral Domain to-day by the Manutulcc Memorial Kali Association. Strong competition was forthcoming in the amateur athletic events, while the dancing, wrestling and horse events were also popular. One of the features of the meeting, was the fact that no professional entries came to hand. This was a result of the amount of the prize money lixed by the association not meeting with the approval of the professionals, who accordingly gave their support to the Tolaga Day meeting, which was also held today. However, the, programme arranged in the various sections was so extensive that the spectators had plenty to interest them, even with the absence of one section of athletes. The horse jumping attracted much attention, as did the dancing, while the wrestling was also popular among a section of the crowd. The wrestling was under the supervision of Mr. T. P.
