STEAMER FOUNDERS
LOADED WITH MEAT CREW PICKED UP (Received April 6, noon) CAPETOWN, April 5. The steamer Halenc bound tor the Tyne from Australia, with a load ot meat, sank off Paternoster Point, 20 uiiies north of Saldalina. The vessel struck a reef yesterday afternoon. She extricated herself, but the forward hold filled with water, and the bulkhead yielded. At 10 o’clock in the morning the crew scrambled into lifeboats, and were rescued by a Capetown tug which responded to lust night’s.wireless call.
