HELtf THIS AFTERNOON <IOOO BALES FROM GISBORNE The Napier wool sale is being held this afternoon. It was originally intended to commence the sale at 0 a.m. to-day. but advice was received in Gisborne late yesterday afternoon to the effect that the start was being delayed until ~ p.m. As a result, selling is expected to proceed until a late hour and the first advice regarding the trend of events is not expected in Gisborne until late in the afternoon. Approximately 4000 bales of Gisborne wool is included in the catalogue which totals 27,902 bales. The quality and condition of the wool are regarded as the best for many years, and on this aspect the Napier Telegraph statco that from the tone of the market at the first of the Auckland series and the very fine condition of this year’s Hawke’s Bay clip it is antici- '[)■ tml that an increase of about id pe; Hi. on the northern rates will be real isml.
