WRESTLING
GEORGE WALKER’S PLANS A TOUR OF AMERICA Those who have seen the Canadian wrestler, George Walker, in action in the New Zealand ring are convinced that lie would bo wasting his time in this country during the of! season for the mat sport, when the other overseas matmen are able to turn over good money in the United States. Yielding to tho advice of his many friends, Walker has decided to try the air of America and the possibility of profits in the wrestling ring there, and will leave within a few weeks in search of matches.
Prior to his departure from New Zealand, however, ho will make a farewell tour of a number of centres where ho is well known, including Gisborne, and will give exhibition bouts with a view to enlivening interest in tho sport and preparing the ground for next season’s activities. Walker is too well known in Gisborne to need any introduction to the “fans,” who will welcome the news that Gisborne is to be included in tho itinerary.
