Victoria- beat South Australia in the intcr-State contest, by six rubbers, 15 sets, 145 games to six rubbers, 13 sets, 133 games. R. Cl led hill (America) defeated R. Schlcsinger (Vilocria), 6—4, 2—6, 6—3, 6—l. Mrs. Van Eyn (America) defeated Miss K. Woodward (Victoria), 6—3, 6—4. Vines (America) defeated J. Cleminger (Victoria), 6—2, 7—9. 6—l, B—6. W. Allison and J. Van Ryn defeated ,T. B. Ha wk.es (Victoria) and S. Guist (South Australia), 3—6, 6—4. 6—2, 6 —4 All were championship events. BRAZILIAN TOURNAMENT RIO HE JANEIRO, Dec. 2. Caltruzza defeated Avory, 9—7, 6—o, 6—3, and Robson defeated Olil'f, 6—2, 6—2, 6—o, in the semi-finals of the singles in the tennis championship on Friday. Cattaruzza and Monica Rickets won the Brazilian mixed doubles tennis title, defeating Olifit' and Julita Della Paine. 6—2, 6—4..
