(Herald Correspondent.) The winners at the euchre tournament held oil Saturday night were Mrs. F. Greatbach and Mr. R, Mortleman. On the previous Saturday the tournament was won by Mr. A. E. Ashdown and Mys. O. Lynch, tlm consolation prizes going to Mr. J. Clark and Mrs. Dower. A team from the local tennis club vi.si.ted Piiba on Saturday, winning the tournament by 17 games to seven. Several members from the Matawai Women's Institute were guests at _ tlm Motu Women’s Institute’s second' birthday party,' and spent a very happy afternoon. Mrs. W. Calcott apologised for the absence of the local president and the president of tbe group, who were unavoidably detained from being present, and in thanking the neighboring’ institute, w.ished it many happy returns of the day. Mrs. T. Quirk also returned thanks on behalf of Motuhora Women’s Institute, apologising for the absence of its president. Last week Mr. 11. E. Burgess had tiie misfortune to meet with an accident, which resulted in a broken collarbone.
