FIRE IN PLANTATION
FARMER- SUED BY CROWN At the direction of Mr. Justice Ostler the parties reached a settlement by agreement on the basis of the amount paid into Court in the Christchurch Supreme Court case the Crown and Frederick James Serial, of Hanmer, farmer, in respect of a'claim Cor damages caused by lire that spread to a State plantation. The case was one involving the extent of the damage caused by a lire in the State plantation at Hanmer last year. The claim set out that, on October 30, 1931, defendant started a fire on Ins' property, the St. lick is . t a >n.
