U.S. BEER TAX
WOULD BRING IN £150,800,000 WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va., Oct. 25. Legal beer and a Federal tax thereon could bring Ihc United States Government us much as £150,800.000 additional revenue, the'lnvestment Bankers’ Association convention Avas informed by its Federal taxation committee. Without giving nil opinion on prohibition, the committee reported that a tax up to Is 8d a gallon on beer might readily be levied, which Avould bring this large sum. and which is roughly equivalent to three-fourths of tho Federal income tax collected in the last fiscal year.
