GOLD FROM INDIA
HIDDEN HOARDS’ YIELDS CALCUTTA, Nov. 24. There appears to be. ho end to tlie a mount of gold hoarded in India. Though Britain has been off gold for more than a year the bullion room of every liner leaving Bombay is crammed with gold. The exports for the year now amount to 1,000,011(1,000 rupees (about £00,000,000 id par). Distrust of banks by primitive peoples is the main reason why family fortunes have been buried beneath humble houses.
