Social Habits Changing
COCIAL habits in London are changing in many curious ways. There was a time, and that not long ago, when Friday night was regarded socially as “dead."
' Now, not only Friday, but eveu Saturday nights find Loudon full and entertaining on as brilliant a scale as possible. One of the reasons assigned for this new state of affairs is the fact that few people arc attempting to keep two houses going, one in town and the other in the country. Home hostesses arc settling down :n the country for the autumn and the usual round of English country life; but the more popular plan, in these days of easy transport, is to have a couple of days mid-week in the country, hunting or shooting, and the remainder of the week in London. This means a demand for Friday and Saturday night gaieties.
