SUMMER EXERCISES
MILITARY TRAINEES DECEMBER CAMP AT MURIWAI The first of a series of week-end camps for military trainees to be held during the summer months will take place on December 17 and 18, when, by ‘he courtesy of the East Coast -Commission, me officers, N.C.O.s and men of the Headquarters Wing and B Company of the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, and the Signal Troop of the Wellington (Hast Coast) Mounted Rifles, will bo encamped on Pakowhai station, Muriwai. The site chosen for the camp is a particularly suitable one, access being by good roads, while firewood and water can be secured on the spot, and a good shooting range is available. The trainees will engage in machine gun and Lewis gun practice on fSj? bench towards Young Nick’s Ile&u, ami will carry out other exercises.
The majority of the men will go into camp at midday on Saturday, December 17, and arrangements have been made ror those who arc unable to obtain leave for the afternoon to be taken out to the camp in the evening. The. men will break camp early on Monday morning.
