The' first high climb of the season from tho Franz Josef Glacier was accomplished last week, says a correspondent, by Mr. Goodfellow, of tho English Alpine Olub, with Guide J. Cox, when the Minarets and the de la Beclie, both over 10,000 ft, were climbed. The ascent was made from tho Aimer hut. The weather and the snow conditions were perfect. On tlie same day Miss Theomin, Dunedin, with Guide Peter Graham, also ascended the Mount Drummond and St. Mildred peaks.
