TURANGANUI LODGE, U.A.OD. The half-yearly meeting of Turanganui ■Lodge, No. 7, U.A.0.D., was held in [the Masonic Hail last evening. The meeting was presided over by the Arch Druid, Ib-o. A. Wade, with a full complement of assisting officers. The principal business was the receiving of the balance-sheet and the installation of officers for she ensuing term. The Grand Lodge book examiner, Bro. T. G. Lawless, commenting on the various funds, staled that, although snpail decreases wore shown in some, substantial credit balances were brought forward- in all the working funds of the lodge. Considerable assistance had been extended to keep members good on iho books. Tin's feature of the fund is working well and everything is being done for the assistance of brothers in need, the management committee considering every case on its merits. Referring to the hospital fund, Bro. Lawless said a fresh scheme had been instituted by which hospital benefits had been extended to include the wives and children of lodge members, and in order to make this effective an increase o' the levy was necessary. It would be interesting to note how the scheme worked out, no concluded. On the motion o { Bro. W. Jackson, seconded Dip. P. Macdonald, tlio report and balance-sheet were unanimously adopted. The bards’ report on sick members was presented. ,bowing a slight decrease, and was considered satisfactory. Sisk pay totalling £22 16s TOd was passed for sVaymont, and a sum of £2 was granted in a deserving, case. On» candidate was initiated into the secrets of the order. The Grand Lodge secretary reported that lie had visited Dro. E. A. Scarfe in hosoita! in Wellington for treatment, and had found him very cheerful and in good spiritk. The installation ceremony was carried out by District President Bro. W. Jackson in a highly creditable manlier, übd at its conclusion he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The D.P. and several brothers will visit Wniroa to-morrow for the purpose of installing Gin officers of the Wniroa Lodge.
