MASS OF FLAMES
TWO MEN FATALLY BURNED BRISBANE, Nov. 18. Two men were fatally burned when a drum of petrol ignited and exploded while n motor truck was being refuelled last night at Ooondiwindi. The t victims were Keith Bell, 17, of Ooondiwindi, and George Donovan, tin, of Clifton. j Bell was employed at the road construction cam]). He started to got the truck ready for work the following morning. He and Donovan were working with a hurricane lamp, which was about 14ft from the truck. Bell opened a drum of petrol, and it burst almost immediately into flames, setting lire to liis clothes. He inn about 20 yards with his clothes ablaze. Wh.cn the other men had smothered the flames, Donovan saw his lent pbout to catch fire; arid rushed to save, it. After getting his belongings he tried to pull down the tent. While lie was standing with his back to the blazing drum it exploded, spraying him with petrol. His clothes became a mass of flames. The flames were extinguished by his mates.
Both men wore taken to a hospital, but died in a few hows.
