BETTING ROOMS
TO BE LEGALISED IN TASMANIA #5 ' HOBART, Nov. 25. A hill to provide for tho legalisation of bookmakers in Tasmania was agreed to in the House of Assembly yesterday by 17 votes to 6. The bill provides for the establishment of betting) rooms in cities and towns approved by the authorities, and the payment of a tax of Id on bets below 10s and 3d on larger bets.
